About narnar
Last updated: September 14, 2026
narnar is an independent questions-and-answers and guide platform for university students — those going abroad on exchange and those working through student life at home. The aim in one sentence: take the information a student normally spends days assembling from official pages, forum threads and second-hand advice, and put it in one place, dated and sourced.
An important note
narnar has no official connection to the European Union, the Erasmus+ Programme, any national agency or any university. It is an independent project. Everything here is for general information. In application, grant, visa and academic matters the only binding sources are your own university's international office and the relevant authority — confirm there before you act.
Why this site exists
The three things students need most when preparing — real costs, the correct order of steps, and what to do in the first week — are usually the most scattered. A visa fee appears as three different numbers on three sites, none of which says when it was last true. A forum thread has the right answer, written three years ago. A friend's account describes a process that applies at a different university.
narnar closes that gap with two things: guides that carry a date and a source, and questions answered by students who have been through the same process.
What is on the site
- Questions and answers. Any signed-in student can ask and answer. Answers are voted on, and the person who asked marks the one that worked as the solution. Both question and answers stay public and permanent, so the next person searching finds the same answer.
- Erasmus stories. Students describing a full semester — city, budget, housing, courses, and what they would do differently.
- Country preparation guides. Blocked account, visa, residence permit, housing and insurance, in order, with the amounts each step costs.
- Process and student-life guides. From the Learning Agreement to grant instalments, from building a budget to a first internship application.
- Exam and interview material. The structure of the language test, worked sample questions, and the questions asked at selection interviews.
- Travel routes and a route planner. City-by-city plans with real budget lines, and a tool that builds a plan from your own dates.
How the content is produced
The full set of rules is on the editorial principles page. In short:
- Three kinds of information are kept apart: a student's first-hand experience, a researched but unverified recommendation, and an official source. Which one you are reading is visible in the text.
- No price, deadline or statistic is invented. A number that cannot be sourced is not published.
- Every guide carries a last-checked date. When a rule changes, the page is updated and the date renewed; outdated pages are not left standing quietly.
- Sample exam questions are labelled as samples. Questions written by narnar are never presented as past papers.
If you see something wrong or out of date, write to us: we correct it and renew the check date. It is the most useful feedback channel the site has.
Community content
Questions, answers, stories and routes belong to the users who wrote them; they are not narnar's opinion and narnar does not guarantee their accuracy. Everyone who posts confirms at that moment that the content does not breach the community guidelines, and that confirmation is stored with the post. Content that breaks the rules is removed; repeated breaches lead to suspension.
Advertising and partnerships
The site is funded by advertising and affiliate links.
- Every block containing affiliate links says so on the page.
- A provider appears in a guide because students need that step, not because it pays. Alternatives without a partnership stay in the same list.
- No advertising is shown on question pages without an answer, or on settings, sign-in and administration pages.
